School days, school days, “…where on earth are your SHOES?!” days…The tax-free weekend is over, haircuts and immunization appointments are made, and all the feels are happening for moms and dads sending the littles off for the first (or last) time this month. To celebrate (and let’s be real… to calm some nerves), we’re sharing some brilliant ways to spend the extra time you’ll have on your hands soon.
Buy yourself some beautiful colored pencils or a set of fancy markers, and spend fifteen minutes making something lovely. We love this trend because it’s something you can do anywhere, anytime. Color with your littles after dinner, or all by yourself, tucked up in a favorite chair with a glass of wine. Books can be found at almost any bookstore (A Barnes & Noble near us recently had a huge table-full for ½ off!)
You may have had “make a terrarium” on your to-do list for this summer, thinking it would be a great project to do with the kids, but then you had second thoughts about letting them loose with dirt and rocks and large glass containers… so now’s your chance!
De-cluttering is another trend that has become a bonafide phenomenon this summer. Everyone is reading about the “KonMari Method” or piling up 40 bags in 40 days… now that you have more time to yourself, maybe those closets and toys and junk drawers can finally be tackled?
